Stuck Pipe Freeing Worksheet
Once the sticking mechanism is identified, the correct first action to free ourselves may be taken. Secondary freeing procedures can be prepared while continuing with the first action for any of the stuck pipe mechanisms.
Note that the pipe is static during a connection. It doesn't matter if we were pulling out of the hole or running into the hole, if we discovered we were stuck just after a connection then the pipe motion just prior to sticking was static.
Instructions:
Answer each of the 4 questions by selecting the best answer underneath it. Once you have selected a choice for all 4 items, the column with the highest score is the sticking mechanism.
